Cambria

Cambria was established in the 1860's with the birth of a sawmill.  The town then attracted whalers, miners, dairymen and ranchers.  Today Cambria appeals to all types of tourists and visitors.  If you are in the search for History, you may want to visit The Guthrie-Bianchini House, Old Santa Rosa Chapel, or the Santa Rosa Cemetary...where you would see headstones that go back as far as the Spanish land grant dons.  This towns shopping area has both old and new buildings.  These stores offer everything from antiques to homemade textiles. Cambria's nightlife includes little theatre productions, live music in saloons & lounges, as well as some of the best restaurants on the Central Coast.

If you have time, travel up the Coast a bit and visit Cambria's neighbor Hearst Castle State Historic monument with all of its art treasures.  There is also wine tasting available at the local wineries as well as a Farmer's Market to pick up some local produce and flowers.

Cambria has beautiful nature to be observed.  Aside from the gorgeous ocean sunsets, there are sea otter, migrating whales, and massive elephant seals to go see.

There are a number of outdoor activities to choose from:  kite flying, fishing, swimming, diving, wind surfing, kayaking, surfing, cycling, & hiking to name a few.
